Our favorite books are the ones that surprise us, either by deviating from the clichés of crime fiction, reclaiming those motifs in fresh new ways, or blurring the boundary between genres. Bijetri Roy—whose astounding book, Journey to the Tenth Dimension bridges the gap between science fiction and thriller.

The book uses elements of both—a near future setting that speculates on AI in our current and future society, and the investigation of a startling and gruesome murder/s that drive the stories. This is a crazy fast read, essentially a book that was meant to be science fiction but now, as these subjects become more mainstream, it's inclined as a “speculative” thriller.

I believe, strong character description is key to creating vivid and realistic characters, but this is a tale driven book, rather than character. They weigh down; they have no strong identification. However, what covers that up is the language- it's razor-sharp and the storytelling is full of wonders and surprises, which is all the more remarkable.

I would definitely recommend this to all those who love thrillers and needs a quick read to get out of their slump. This book is the one.
