Mithal, a young boy, having lost both his parents, live a hand to mouth life, selling snacks on his good old Luna. He discovers a cave that claims to lead the way to Kashi and decides to take on the journey. Considering Kashi's spiritual value, it is quite evident that this journey to Kashi might have layers to it to be unsnarled by the readers.
With it's adventurous descriptions sprinkled with elements of fantasy and magic, it becomes a great read for kids as well. But a closer look definitely reveals a more profound implication. It denotes that success is a subjective concept and mean differently for disparate people.
The journey is metaphorical in the sense that it is upto us to realise what our ambitions are and it is absolutely necessary to seek after it, albeit allowing the universe or Magic, as Mithal thought of it, to guide us through it. It is a short and unique read, allowing us to interpret the short episodes in multiple ways, connecting Mithal's experience with the personal.
