"Songs of Shoreless Winds" by Nivedita Singh Tomar is more than a book of rhyming poems. It is a publication of highly raked raw emotional feelings, which walk you through the recesses of the writer’s mind and peer into a window of her soul. The poems are easy to read. They are entertaining and thought-provoking.

This book is vibrant and thriving, filled with voices that seem to reach out and take our hand that let us know we’re understood, we’re not alone. And that’s what poetry should do. A great poem helps us put words to feelings we couldn’t explain before, or help us empathize with something new, or reaffirm our place in the world. The poet gets personal with the memories of her grandfather and the diaries he left behind for her. These are poems of sliding scale: some capture a flicker of memory; some collage an array of documents, societal upheavals, and at once bear love, anguish, joy, vulnerability, and compassion, while also exploring the many other facets of life. It is almost like every poem is a universe of its own – so vast and detailed, even if it seems contained in the pages of the book. It doesn't need a blurb. It simply needs to be read.
