The Tales Of Unearthly Encounters by Deep Naskar

This book as the name suggests is a collection of short stories that deal with or revolve around unnatural, Supernatural or paranormal activities events incidents and characters. Although they are thematically unified by a singular thread of paranormality, each of the stories stand distinctively in terms of setting, plot, narration and characterization. The stories are not monotonous and the plots are skillfully crafted that not only create the desired spooky ambience but have the propensity to make the readers sit and ponder over the events that unfold in due course of time. One common motif that I found in many of the stories is that rain is symbolised as an omen, a harbourer of unnerving experiences. Other symbolic omens too prepare the readers for a spooky experience. Some of my favourites from the collection are 'The Predator', 'The Manor' and 'Confined'. I personally love to listen or read stories that are not essentially ghost stories but ones that raise questions beyond the comprehension of normal, earthly humans and I immensely enjoyed reading these stories. You will absolutely relish these stories if supernatural forces and paranormal activities intrigue you.
